Open Letter to Parents & Friends: Are you affected by someone elses substance use?

As a parent, a family member or close friend of a drug addict we understand you are hurting. That you are being affected by someone elses substance use. To see somebody you love destroy his/her life and slowly but surely go towards ruin or death isn't easy.

There is a SOLUTION that can help most people to overcome the ravages of alcohol and drug addiction.

The following might be offending to some people. However, if you are still reading it's because you are interested to know our view, so here it is:

There are thousands of drug rehabilitation programs offered all over the world. Some are very good. However, there are a lot that will try to make you believe that the person you want to help is sick, that he has a disease. This is another way to sell the "needed drug to treat" the person. Isn't it your primary desire to help the addict stop taking drugs? The sales pitch of the "legal pushers" is very well constructed. It is extremely well justified, sounds logical and very convincing. It has to be! That is why they are able to harm so many people with their drugs, be careful!

  • If you do a little research about the history of drugs, you will find out that the major drugs we are having problems with today, were once used to solved an addiction problem of the past. Isn't that incredible?
  • In the 19th Century people addicted to opium were "treated" using morphine
  • In 1844 people addicted to morphine were "treated" using cocaine
  • In 1898 people addicted to morphine were "treated" using heroin
  • Today people addicted to heroin are put on methadone (synthetic heroin = much worse) treatment

There are also programs that will have the person you want to help listen to other people's problems. The drug addict has a problem, he knows it. He doesn't want to hear the problems of others, he wants to solve his. Isn't that what you would want also?

For anyone to make the right decision you must have the right information. We hope that you will be your own counselor and look for that information. Not only the one that makes sense for the quick fix, pleasing your thoughts for the moment, but the one that leads you to a workable solution and saves a life.

Think about it: What hurts you the most in life? What you know or what you don't know. Isn't it true that if you KNEW what was happening with your loved one, it would not be a problem but more likely a situation to handle? If somebody is rational, KNOWS how to be happy and successful, we are absolutely convinced that this is what he will manage to be.

One of the things he will do is to spread the right information to others for them to enjoy life too. That person is rational enough to know that their survival depends on their actions.

Question: Why did the person you are concerned with started drugs?

Answer: Lack of knowledge.

The person had a lack of knowledge about something and did not have the "know how" to handle it to obtain what he wanted. At some point, life itself became an unpleasant experience. Every one of us has this ultimate desire to be happy. Not being able to achieve that state of mind, some are tricked into drugs as a solution to get some fun or be more comfortable in different situations. Unfortunately, without even having time to realize it, the trap closes tight and imprisons the person in the grip of drug addiction!

The Narconon Program solves that with knowledge acquisition. That is why the people doing the program are called students. Once they are finished with the unique drug free withdrawal and detoxification method used, (to free the body of drug residues that causes the physical urge to get drugs) the students learn the tools to get what they want out of life. The student is the ONLY one that knows what he knows or doesn't know about life. During the study of the Narconon Life Skills courses he will recognize what he wrongly applied to resolve any unwanted conditions that have been putting stops to his happiness.

We specialize in the recovery of chronic relapsers and we do have the best success rate worldwide. We do something different to be that successful with people where other programs failed.
